Arsenal fans are split on their opinion of Martin Zubimendi’s debut, as he featured against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Gunners worked hard over the past year to get a deal over the line for the Spaniard, who was a main target for Mikel Arteta.
After months of interest, Arsenal paid £52 million to sign Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, a deal aimed at strengthening their midfield ranks.
With the supporters waiting to see the superstar in action, the Premier League debut has left some fans happy and others wanting more.

Martin Zubimendi leaves Arsenal fans split over debut vs Man United
Many have been waiting eagerly to see Zubimendi feature in Arsenal colours in a competitive fixture, and the start of the season finally brought that about.
Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Man United offered that first glimpse at the Spaniard, and the response from the fans was very confusing.
Some supporters seemed to think it was a great display, while others were left wanting just a little bit more.
One fan said on social media: “Zubimendi has been awful. He’s a passenger.”
Another added: “Zubimendi best player on the pitch.”
One fan was very sceptical, stating: “Zubimendi hasn’t worked today too. He’s been extremely poor. Arsenal’s number 1 problem, on and off the ball.”
“I like Zubimendi,” another supporter added. “But it’s gonna take time for him to adapt. Looked a fraction of the player from pre-season.”
There were some fans more convinced by the display, stating: “Zubimendi is the only one who’s played well.”
Another fan said: “Zubimendi has been so good today.”
It shows how divided fans can be on the display of their team, but what Zubimendi does may well go under the radar.

Martin Zubimendi’s Arsenal debut by statistics
Zubimendi was busy in all phases of play, getting stuck in when it mattered both on and off the ball throughout the game.
The Spaniard had 89% pass completion, winning 50% of his duels on the ground and in the air during the clash.
He was busy in defensive actions too, completing three tackles, two clearances, a blocked shot and an interception.
It wasn’t the easiest of starts in terms of opposition, especially in a game that largely bypassed the midfield for both teams.
In a game where more control is available, perhaps Zubimendi can show even more of his quality throughout.
