Arsenal supporters were left frustrated with the impact of Thomas Partey during the North London Derby clash against Tottenham.

The Gunners put early pressure on the Lilywhites at the Emirates Stadium, missing a few big chances to take the lead.

Instead, it was Tottenham who took the lead in the first half of the North London Derby through Heung-Min Son.

Disappointingly for Arsenal, the goal came from the second phase of a set-piece, where the Spurs captain was free to strike from range.

Amongst it all was Thomas Partey, with the supporters pointing out his fault in the goal in more than one way.

Arsenal fans left annoyed by Thomas Partey in North London Derby

Arsenal fans were left far from impressed with Thomas Partey in conceding the opening goal against Tottenham.

The midfielder struggled to track back in transition to deny the away side, which led to the set-piece Spurs scored from.

The strike from Son then deflected off the Ghanaian international, taking the shot beyond the outstretched hand of David Raya.

Taking to social media, supporters said: “Partey letting everyone run through the middle of the pitch as per.”

Another added: “Partey liability on set-pieces + Partey liability in falling back into CB = diabolical goal.”

The frustration continued with: “Corner never would have happened if Partey was able to do anything defensively,” and “See how partey was jogging back kmt.”

“That’s Partey’s fault,” another fan said as frustration boiled over the midfielder’s struggles early in the match.

Partey did go on to make a telling contribution later that half, winning the ball back higher up the pitch to help setup the second goal in the clash.

However, questions still remain over the future of the 31-year-old.

Thomas Partey facing questions over Arsenal transfer exit

Partey is now entering the final six months of his future at Arsenal, with uncertainty surrounding his place in the team.

The midfielder could agree a pre-contract agreement elsewhere abroad, while a contract extension is yet to be confirmed.

With his injury struggles in the past and dwindling performances, plenty of doubts hang over whether the 31-year-old should extend his stay.

Add to that the potential of Arsenal signing Martin Zubimendi, and it suggests Partey could be facing the end of his time with the Gunners.
