The stars were out on Wednesday night as injured duo Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri were spotted at Arsenal’s North London Derby clash with Tottenham.

The Gunners went into the match with a severely depleted squad, following an injury crisis – particularly in the forward areas.

Raheem Sterling started on the right flank following news that Gabriel Jesus had suffered an ACL injury in the recent defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup.

That followed injuries for Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri, which has only compounded the difficulties in scoring in recent matches.

With the North London Derby coming as one of the biggest games of the season for Arsenal, going into it without those key players was a huge blow.

However, two of those three wingers currently out were spotted at the Emirates Stadium with a potential injury hint involved.

Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri at Arsenal vs Tottenham amid injury worries

Coming through the Hale End academy, both Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri are about as Arsenal as you could get.

The duo will no doubt have been wishing to play in the North London Derby, but they made their way to watch the match and cheer on their teammates.

Saka and Nwaneri were spotted on the touchline at the Emirates Stadium watching the warm-ups before the match kicked off.

There may have been a potential injury hint in the exchange as well, just from a glance at the attacking pair.

Saka was seen still using crutches, suggesting he is still quite far from returning to the side after suffering a hamstring tear and requiring surgery.

Fortunately, Nwaneri was spotted moving freely, with some hope that he could be back around the team by the end of the month.

As a result, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal hierarchy will be able to enter the market in the January transfer window.

How long are Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri injured for?

Arsenal will be desperate to have players back in the side from injury to give them the best chance possible in all their remaining competitions.

Saka’s hamstring issue was a serious one due to the tear suffered and the surgery required afterwards, leaving him out for a while.

The winger isn’t expected to be back until March at the earliest, with the latest pictures in crutches certainly suggesting he won’t be back soon.

As for Nwaneri, there is an expectation that he could be back in action by the end of the month, though that depends on his recovery.

The youngster had just started to put together some performances and form, which he will want to pick back up immediately.
