Arsenal won out in an enthralling cup tie with Chelsea this evening but their good feeling might be soured by a potentially bitter injury blow.

The Gunners went back and forth with the Blues and twice led by two goals only for Alejandro Garnacho to bite back and score twice.

For Arsenal, though, the win is big and puts them with one foot in the final.

Crucially as well, star signing Viktor Gyokeres got himself on the scoresheet as he bundled home from close range in what was a huge bonus for him and the team.

However, while Gyokeres will celebrate his goal and hope it’s the start of a run, he is also an apparent injury concern.

Gyokeres very much played his part in the win at The Bridge and to get on the scoresheet was a huge confidence boost as well.

It will now be the hope of everyone that he can go on a goal scoring run as Arsenal’s season hits a crucial stage.

However, all might not be well, with Sky Sports’ Gary Cotterill noting that the Swedish striker was sat in the dugout with an ice pack on his leg after coming off.

“Meanwhile, on the Arsenal bench, Gyokeres was given an ice pack by medical staff just after he came off. I can’t see from here where he’s put it. Just a precaution, I’m sure,” Cotterill wrote.

Injury to Gyokeres at this juncture would be a huge blow.

As Cotterill writes, it will hopefully be nothing and he is fit and firing for the next game.

It might have been a bundled finish and from only a few yards out but ultimately, these were the types of goal that Arsenal needed Gyokeres to score.

We see players like Erling Haaland and Ollie Watkins and even Harry Kane with England score these goals all the time.

Gyokeres’ celebration said a lot about he is feeling about things but he can take big confidence in getting the ball in the back of the net.

The big striker will be judged on goals and it’s another one to the tally tonight with Arsenal fans hoping there’ll be many more to come.
