Arsenal suffered the worrying blow of seeing Declan Rice forced off with a calf injury against Brentford.
In the 82nd minute, Rice went down holding the back of his leg and had to be subbed off by Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal also lost Cristhian Mosquera to an injury, although the Spaniard looks to have avoided any serious issue.
The Gunners managed to secure a crucial 2-0 win over Brentford, with goals from Mikel Merino and Bukayo Saka getting the job done at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Rice’s injury will have slightly marred the win, and the Gunners will now be left to sweat over his fitness ahead of further assessments.

Declan Rice is expected to be back very soon for Arsenal
Declan Rice is unlikely to miss more than a fortnight after his injury scare against Brentford, according to Physio Scout.
The 26-year-old appeared to be pointing to the lower part of his calf, the soleus, which would likely indicate either a minor strain or tightness.
Fortunately, the injury expert claims that most calf issues only tend to be minor and recover quickly, which is great news for Arsenal.
Alan Smith is worried about who replaces Declan Rice… 😬
Therefore, a timescale of no more than a week to a fortnight is expected for the midfielder, although further tests will be required.
It seemed as though Rice was withdrawn as a precaution, as he walked off the field looking fairly comfortable.
Rice has been outstanding this season for Arsenal, so losing him for any amount of time would be a big blow for Arteta’s team.
It’s hard to see how Arsenal would replace the midfielder against Aston Villa, given their lack of options in the middle of the park.
Mikel Arteta issues injury update on Declan Rice
Arteta has issued an injury update on Rice, stating that the player will undergo tests on Thursday to learn the full extent of the injury.
The former West Ham man was able to walk okay after the match; therefore, it’s unlikely he has done any serious damage to his calf.
After the match, Arteta told the media: “It’s never good news. Declan, we don’t know, we’ll have to see tomorrow what he’s got. He couldn’t carry on playing, so he had to come off. He can walk.”
Mikel Arteta is keen for Arsenal to secure Declan Rice’s future…
In his pre-match press conference, Arteta spoke about Arsenal renewing Rice’s contract, and he is hopeful that the vice captain will stay in North London for many years.
