Arsenal secured all three points against Leicester City with a dramatic 4-2 win.
It was a mixed game for the Gunners. They were dominant from start to finish but blew the two-goal lead they had at half-time.
Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen was having a sensational game in goal, and it just felt like one of those days for Arsenal and the fans at the Emirates.
However, Wilfred Ndidi’s own goal in the 94th minute followed by Kai Havertz’s tap-in five minutes later helped the Gunners pick up a deserved win in the end.
Arsenal extend 12-year record after win over Leicester City
There were times when it looked like Arsenal would drop points against Leicester, but nobody can deny that the Gunners deserved the victory.
Hermansen made a total of 13 saves against the North Londoners at the Emirates – the most by a goalkeeper in the Premier League since December 2017.
Arsenal had 36 shots at goal, 16 of which were on target. On another day, they would’ve scored eight, but the footballing gods wanted them to work hard today.
However, all that matters is the win in the end, and Arsenal are now level on points with Manchester City in the Premier League table.
By beating Leicester, the Gunners have also extended their very impressive streak.
Arsenal haven’t lost a home game in the Premier League in September since 2012. That’s a stunning 12-year streak in which they have won 15 and drawn four.
That is a great record to have.
