Arsenal’s big day at Wembley ended up being a nightmare as Man City put the Gunners to bed with two second half goals.
A double from Nico O’Reilly all but ended any hopes Arsenal had of winning one of potentially four trophies this season.
In the main, it was a case of the Gunners just not turning up and even their most seasoned performers were not at the races.
Here, then, are our player ratings as Arsenal lost out in the Carabao Cup final.
Who was Arsenal’s WORST player against Manchester City?
Arsenal’s player ratings v Manchester City at Wembley
Kepa Arrizabalaga – 3
Given the nod over David Raya but it could prove one of Mikel Arteta’s most costly mistakes.
Kepa never looked as comfortable as we see with Raya and his mistake for the opening goal just about summed up his experiences at Wembley as a whole.
Ben White – 4
Nowhere near the level we’ve got used to seeing from Jurrien Timber. Booked midway through the second half for a petulant tackle on Rayan Cherki.
Gabriel – 5
Could do little to prevent either goal and was kept busy by the movement of Erling Haaland all afternoon.
William Saliba – 5
Like Gabriel, could do little to stop either goal but will be disappointed with the position in which O’Reilly nodded in his second.
Piero Hincapie – 4
Hincapie struggled right from the first minute and Gary Neville even suggested he be taken off after just 30 minutes.
Was replaced by Riccardo Calafiori on the hour.
Declan Rice – 3
A real disappointment from Rice who seemed to be stunned on the big occasion.
Rice was also targeted by City and never got into any sort of flow, subsequently impacting the Gunners’ play overall.

Martin Zubimendi – 5
Much like Rice, Zubimendi was pretty anonymous in the game where more was expected. Rodri very much showed he is still top dog in terms of Spanish midfielders.
Bukayo Saka – 6
Saka huffed and puffed as he tried to get Arsenal into the game but ultimately, he fell short of what was needed. He’ll be mightily disappointed to leave Wembley empty handed after leading the team out.
Leandro Trossard – 4
Another disappointment for the Gunners. Trossard offered little from the left-hand side and Arsenal fans will be wondering why Gabriel Martinelli wasn’t involved from the off.
Kai Havertz – 4
Taken off on the hour mark and was largely ineffective. Never got into any space and when he did get the ball, he was often stifled and pressed out of things.
Viktor Gyokeres – 5
Was arguably one of Arsenal’s better players but that is saying something. The Swedish striker huffed and puffed but never got the service as both Nathan Ake and Khusanov snuffed him out all afternoon.
