The latest news, rumours, opinions and updates about Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya from Arsenal Insider. Raya moved to Emirates Stadium in an initial loan transfer from Brentford for £3m in August 2023. The Spaniard’s switch from the Bees to the Gunners also included a £27m option to buy that the north London natives took up in July 2024.
Raya had long been a transfer target of Mikel Arteta, who first wanted Arsenal to secure a deal in 2021. The shot-stopper had also worked with goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana Pavon at Brentford and reunited in north London. Raya even quickly replaced Aaron Ramsdale to be Arsenal’s No1 in September 2023.
