Arsenal are set to face Southampton in the Premier League in their final game before the October International break.

Arsenal navigated a run of difficult fixtures since the last break, and are still undefeated in all competitions heading into the clash.

Southampton were promoted back to the Premier League for this season, but have lost five of their six opening games, and they face a daunting test at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side drew 3-3 with Southampton in their last meeting in April 2023, in which goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale made a huge error. Ramsdale will now return to the Emirates with Southampton, in his first game against Arsenal since departing in the summer.

So with that said, here’s a look at everything you need to know about Arsenal vs Southampton.

Arsenal vs Southampton Premier League clash date and kick-off time

Arsenal will host Southampton at the Emirates on Saturday October 5th, 2024, at 3pm BST.

This is the first time Southampton will play against Arsenal since their relegation in 2023, but they have drawn both their last two meetings with the Gunners.

How to watch Arsenal vs Southampton live on TV

Unfortunately for viewers in the United Kingdom, Arsenal vs Southampton will not be televised in the UK due to the 3pm blackout rule.

Arsenal fans not in attendance at the Emirates Stadium can listen to live coverage on talkSPORT, with commentary coming from ex-Gunner Perry Groves and Ian Danter.

There will also be extended highlights in the evening on BBC Match of the Day.

Arsenal team news and injuries

Arteta has hinted that doubtful trio Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu could all play a part, but Oleksandr Zinchenko and Martin Odegaard are still not fit to return.

Arsenal could line up with the same team that beat Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, but the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Mikel Merino will all be pushing for starts.

Tickets for Arsenal vs Southampton

The game at the Emirates is sold out, but fans can still try to buy tickets on the official ticket exchange, which allows members to purchase resold tickets from season ticket holders who cannot attend the match.

It is a category C fixture, with prices for adults in the lower tier starting at just under £40.

Prediction

Arsenal are unbeaten, and their performance against PSG was a superb one, with centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes continuing to impress.

Southampton manager Russell Martin is under serious pressure, and all signs point towards a convincing Arsenal victory to pile on the misery for the Saints.

Ramsdale could receive a warm reception as he returns to the ground where he was a popular figure before his departure, but anything short of a convincing Arsenal win would be disappointing for Arteta.
