Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka shone bright again for Mikel Arteta during the Gunners’ win over West Ham.

For the second time in a week, Arsenal scored five in a competitive match, building on the Champions League win against Sporting CP.

Just like in Lisbon, five different faces scored for the Gunners, with Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes finding the scoresheet again.

Captain Martin Odegaard joined the quartet that scored in midweek to record a memorable derby win over the Hammers at the London stadium.

Bukayo Saka joins Cesc Fabregas in Arsenal history against West Ham

It was a much-needed Premier League win for Arsenal, who are looking to hunt down league leaders Liverpool over the festive season.

Dominantly beating West Ham was a plus for Arteta and one player in particular who wrote himself into the Gunners’ history books.

After starring against Sporting CP, Saka returned to Premier League duty with a bang, scoring and assisting twice at the London Stadium.

By doing so, the Hale End graduate became the first Arsenal play to score and assist in three consecutive matches in all competitions since 2007.

16 years ago, Cesc Fabregas made it to four successive matches with a goal and an assist in each, giving Saka another record to aim for this term.

Saka is integral to Arteta’s project which was made even clearer against the Hammers, who like many before them, struggled to contain the England international.

Saka has elevated this season

It’s been a remarkable start to the 2024/25 campaign for the Arsenal winger, who is performing as one of the best in Europe.

Saka overtook Kylian Mbappe with regard to goal contributions in the previous two Champions League campaigns, proving that he’s a force to be reckoned with in world football.

Against West Ham, the 23-year-old was at the top of his game, proving to be an unplayable figure for the Hammers to tend to at times on the right side.

Writing his name into Arsenal history alongside Fabregas is a significant feat for Saka, who is well on his way to becoming a club legend in N5.
