Bukayo Saka will be particularly pleased with Arsenal’s opening-day win over Wolves in the Premier League.

Saka secured a goal and an assist in the first game of the 2024/25 season as Arsenal got three points on the board to kick off the new campaign.

Mikel Arteta will be delighted with the winger’s performance, as the England international was tireless in his approach on the right side of attack.

Not only was the 22-year-old’s decision-making on the pitch spot on but his calls off the pitch prior to the game were also incredibly accurate.

Kai Havertz makes Bukayo Saka’s prediction in Arsenal v Wolves come true

When previewing the first game of the season, Saka predicted Kai Havertz to score the first goal of the game against Wolves and the German delivered.

In the first half, the England international made space for himself by cutting in from the right before carving out an inch-perfect cross to place that ball into Havertz’s path.

The 25-year-old then made no mistake in burying the ball beyond the reach of Jose Sa to net the first of the game and Arsenal’s first of the season.

Saka wasn’t the only player to back Havertz to score the opener, as Ben White and Fabio Vieira shared the same opinion as the Hale End graduate.

It was smart for the Arsenal trio to favour the Germany international in front of goal, as Havertz continued where he left off last term as he ended the 2023/24 campaign with four goals in the last five games.

Havertz has come to life under Mikel Arteta

At the start of last season, Havertz was a player carrying himself with little confidence and received little belief from supporters following his shock arrival from Chelsea.

It took the versatile forward time to adapt to life in North London however, when things clicked, he never looked back.

Aside from his goal against Wolves on the opening day, the 25-year-old was incredibly bright in the final third, linking well with Saka and consistently making himself available to generate positive passages of play.

It’s poised to be a magnificent campaign for the 2023 arrival if the form he displayed on the opening day can be sustained.
