Chris Sutton has made a bold claim about Arsenal’s Premier League title credentials after watching the Gunners beat Fulham.
Leandro Trossard scored the game’s only goal at Craven Cottage on Sunday night, tapping home from a corner after 58 minutes.
The North Londoners struggled for large periods against the Cottagers, but they found the breakthrough from a set-piece and were able to hold on to their lead in relatively comfortable fashion.
Mikel Arteta’s side’s elite defensive record continues, and they now sit four points above Liverpool, who play Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Chris Sutton says this is Arsenal’s year
Many pundits were sceptical about Arsenal’s ability to win the Premier League before the season kicked off.
There was a belief that the manner in which they fell off at the back end of last term was a sign that they’d passed their best under Arteta.
However, after watching the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City struggle at certain points this season, many have changed their tune.
Ally McCoist now believes Arsenal will win the league, and the Scotsman isn’t the only one. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former Celtic striker Sutton claimed that this is the Gunners’ year, after watching them edge past Fulham.
“Arsenal just don’t concede,” Sutton said.
“Name another squad in the Premier League that has their strength in depth, and they’ve got [Noni] Madueke to come back, they’ve got [Kai] Havertz to come back. This is their year.”
Arsenal can still go up a level in attack
While they’re nothing short of sublime defensively, Arsenal could still go up another level offensively.
The Gunners looked stodgy at times against Fulham, with their passes not flowing smoothly and their patterns in the final third not quite coming together cohesively.
Their individual attacking players can produce a lot more than what they showed in West London.
Viktor Gyokeres was poor against Fulham for the most part and can certainly threaten the opposition more effectively throughout 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Eberechi Eze was subdued on the night, struggling to influence the game consistently in a crowded central area. If he hits form, the Gunners could come to life in attacking areas.
