Chris Sutton predicts Arsenal vs Liverpool scoreline
Virgil van Dijk is wary of the threat Arsenal pose, as Liverpool will visit N5 amid the Gunners’ seven-game winning streak.
Taking to his BBC Sport column, Sutton honed in on Arsenal’s strength, describing Arteta’s squad as being ‘a different level to Liverpool’.
Sutton was adamant about one thing when previewing the match, as he shared his thoughts that Arsenal are the clear favourites to win.
“This is a bang-average Liverpool team this season, and Arsenal should be able to exploit all of their weaknesses,” Sutton wrote.
The pundit predicted a 2-0 scoreline in Arsenal’s favour, expecting the game to be ‘pretty comfortable’ for the hosts.
Arteta will certainly hope that Sutton is right again after correctly predicting the outcome of the Villa clash, with so much at stake.
Sutton praised Arsenal’s different goal scorers this season
Sutton’s prediction didn’t make for good reading for Liverpool, as the pundit was eager to make his admiration for Arsenal known.
As well as predicting a simple win for the Gunners, Sutton chose to comment on one of Arsenal’s biggest strengths: sharing the goals.
Who is overachieving and who is underachieving with goals this season?
While Sutton believes that Arsenal are ‘carrying’ Viktor Gyokeres, he noted that Arteta’s side have a knack of scoring goals in ‘different ways’.
He was referring to where Arsenal’s goals are sourced from, as the North Londoners have been sharing the goals around this season.
With goals from every direction, Liverpool aren’t safe from any department of the Arsenal squad, but can the Gunners make it count on Thursday?
