Arsenal clashed with PSG in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Mikel Arteta made one change from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium as Thomas Partey replaced Leandro Trossard, meaning Mikel Merino moved to the false nine role.
Arsenal had a barrage of early chances but fell behind midway through the first half as Fabian Ruiz let fly from the edge of the box to give PSG the lead.
PSG were awarded a shambles of a penalty with twenty minutes to go but David Raya saved Vitinha’s effort to keep his side just alive in the tie.
However, just minutes later Achraf Hakimi pounced upon some sloppy defending to fire the ball into the corner.
Bukayo Saka pulled one back for the Gunners as good work from Leandro Trossard forced the ball into the England winger who scored at the second attempt.
It wasn’t to be for Arsenal, there will be regrets over their missed chances and sloppy defending to miss out on the final.

Arsenal player ratings vs PSG
David Raya – 7
Made some good saves on the PSG counter and had no chance with Ruiz’s strike as the ball flicked off Saliba into the corner. Excellent penalty stop to keep Arsenal in the tie.
Jurrien Timber – 8
Ruffled PSG’s feathers in the first half with his unusually high position and was brave on the ball, a real threat for the Gunners.
William Saliba – 6
Made one sloppy pass that almost allowed PSG through in the first half but defended well on the whole, unlucky with the deflection for Ruiz’s goal.
Jakub Kiwior – 6
Another assured performance at the back, defended well and used the ball well, particularly finding Martinelli in the left channel.
Myles Lewis-Skelly – 3
It is hard to criticise this young man but tonight was one of his poorer games. Caught on the ball numerous times and looked hesitant in his decision making – a learning experience.
Thomas Partey – 4
Long throws surprised many and caused PSG problems but should have done better in preventing PSG’s second goal as he missed a crucial interception.
Declan Rice – 8
We have come to expect it from Rice now but he really was everywhere once again for Arteta’s side, drove from midfield into attacking areas and made some crucial defensive interceptions too.
Martin Odegaard – 6
Looked bright on the ball and led Arsenal’s effective press from the front however, frustrated with his decision making in front of goal. Confidence is really lacking.
Bukayo Saka – 7
Struggled to make an impact on the game and was often crowded out by two even three PSG defenders at times. Did get Arsenal back in the game by gambling on Trossard’s good work and could and should have doubled his tally with an extraordinary miss.
Gabriel Martinelli – 6
Looked bright throughout the game and had the beating of Hakimi all game but couldn’t find the final decisive action.
Mikel Merino – 6
Was a real handful for the PSG centre backs and used his physicality well, whatever happens in his Arsenal future, his cameo as a striker can never be forgotten.
Substitutes –
Leandro Trossard – 7
Brought on for Martinelli with twenty minutes to go and did well to set up Saka for his goal.
Riccardo Calafiori – 6
Replaced Lewis-Skelly with twenty minutes to go and put a wonderful cross in for Saka who should have made it 2-2 on the night.
Ben White – N/A
Brought on for Timber with minutes remaining but did not impact the game.
