Arsenal slumped to a disappointing defeat at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners took the lead when Martin Odegaard slipped Declan Rice in behind, with the Englishman neatly taking the ball round Kepa Arrizabalaga and tucking home.

Bournemouth drew level mid-way through the second half when Dean Huijsen nodded beyond David Raya after Antoine Semenyo’s long throw.

Evanilson then gave the visitors the lead, scrapping the ball past Raya from a corner.

The result leaves Arsenal at risk of losing second place in the league with three games remaining.

Arsenal player ratings vs Bournemouth

David Raya – 6

Distribution was a bit hit-and-miss, with a few very sloppy moments, whilst he had very little to do in terms of shot-stopping. Had little chance on the Huijsen header, could maybe have reacted more quickly to the Evanilson effort.

Ben White – 6

Provided some good overlapping runs. Generally steady defensively against the dangerous Ouattara, aside from a couple of moments where he lacked pace.

William Saliba – 7

Swept up brilliantly on a number of occasions.

Jakub Kiwior – 6

A comfortable and steady display as he continues to grow in the team, although questionable on both goals.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7

Retained the ball excellently as usual, whilst providing some lovely line-breaking passes.

Thomas Partey – 4

Some sloppy early moments in possession, looked rusty rather than fresh after missing the PSG game in midweek.

Declan Rice – 8

Was tasked with making late runs into the box and was easily Arsenal’s biggest threat in the early stages. Took his goal excellently. More at home as an eight rather than as a six at the moment.

Martin Odegaard – 6

Looked to peel out to the left-half space early on and get on the ball, and had some lovely touches in this area. A perfectly weighted ball to create the opening goal for Rice. Still some moments of hesitancy and finished the game poorly.

Bukayo Saka – 7

Quiet and subdued early on, but he grew into it and had some very dangerous moments in the second half.

Leandro Trossard – 6

Dropped into deeper positions and looked to turn while Rice ran beyond him, although this didn’t work particularly effectively.

Gabriel Martinelli – 7

Some brilliant bursts of pace beyond the Bournemouth back-line early on, whilst his cut-backs were accurate.
