It was written in the stars that Eberechi Eze would score against Crystal Palace after leaving the Eagles in the summer.
Before Arsenal’s win over Palace, Oliver Glasner warned his side about Eze, but still, the Englishman couldn’t be stopped.
When the ball fell to Eze in the box, it was inevitable that he would score; however, he still managed to surprise fans, scoring a scissor-kick-like volley.
The summer signing earned the spotlight as the Gunners maintained their lead at the top of the Premier League table, but his goal meant a lot more than just three points.

Eberechi Eze matches incredible 111-year feat against Crystal Palace
The contest was a surreal one for Eze, who chose Arsenal over Spurs in the summer, leaving behind Crystal Palace, who will forever hold a special place in his heart.
Scoring against former clubs is a bittersweet feeling for some, but for Eze, the occasion was celebratory for reasons aside from the manner in which the goal was scored.
On X, Opta’s Tom Ede revealed that Eze had actually matched a 111-year feat at Arsenal by scoring.
For the first time since 1914, an Arsenal player scored his first league goal for the Gunners against the club from which he was signed.
The incredible statistic revealed that the last time it happened was when Donald Slade scored against Lincoln City.
It’s an incredible record to match, and one that might not be matched for another 111 years, given its rarity.
Eze reacts to Arsenal’s win over Crystal Palace with Marc Guehi taunt
Despite the drama that Eze’s transfer saga involving Arsenal and Tottenham brought, the player has only ever shown the utmost respect for Crystal Palace.
That was, until matchday nine, as after the contest, the 27-year-old taunted his former teammate and close friend Marc Guehi.
On Instagram, Eze shared a selection of photos after scoring the match-winner, one image being Guehi tightly pulling his shirt.
Eze had a joke with his England teammate, tagging Guehi in the photo, which would’ve undoubtedly fueled some laughs behind the scenes.
It was a day for Arsenal’s summer signing to relish, as things continue to progress nicely for Eze in N5.
