Haaland and Gabriel enjoyed a real tussle throughout the 90 minutes during the match, although tempers really flared late on.

Gabriel appeared to headbutt Haaland in the 83rd minute and seemed rather fortunate not to have been punished more than just a yellow card.
After the match, the Man City striker was happy to laugh off the incident, but is adamant that a red card should have been brandished.

In the build-up to the match, there was a lot of talk about Haaland versus Gabriel, and their battle lived up to expectations.
The pair were allowed to get away with a fair amount of grappling throughout the match, but were both eventually booked following a head-to-head between the two.
Haaland was adamant that the defender should have been sent off, and had he gone to the ground, the red would have been shown.
Speaking to Viaplay, Haaland said: โShould I tell the referee, it doesnโt matter. Look at this! What is this!
โHe (the ref) says itโs both (players). He says this all the time. If I want to go on the floor here, I think it would be a red.โ
When asked if he said or did anything to upset Gabriel, he added: โNo, I didnโtโฆ I think I will never do thisโฆ Ok, maybe sometimes! No, I didnโt do anything.โ

Haaland then went on to praise the defender and admitted that he always enjoys his battles with him: โIn the end, letโs be really serious, he is an amazing player, and it is always a nice battle, but sometimes in the Premier League it is a bit too much.โ
Gabriel had a bad game against City, and will quickly need to put this game behind him in the battle for the Premier League title.
But for sure, he can count himself lucky to be available to face Newcastle United next weekend after clashing with Haaland.
