One of Mikel Arteta’s players had Arsenal fans in awe during the first half of the Premier League meeting with Brentford.

It took Arsenal just 11 minutes to crack Brentford open as Mikel Merino scored his second Premier League goal of the week.

Merino is in red-hot form, making his goal somewhat unsurprising; however, what was unexpected was how it was set up.

Starting on the right flank was Noni Madueke and Ben White, who combined expertly to put the ball on a plate for Merino to head in.

White claimed the assist, but it was Madueke who got fans off their seats.

Madueke is unstoppable when in full flow on the wing, which is just what unfolded in the early stages against Brentford.

For Merino’s goal, the England international held the ball up as White overlapped, then flicked the ball with his heel for the right-back to cross into the box.
