Arsenal are just one game away from producing the greatest season in the club’s history.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already ended the 22-year wait for a Premier League title, and that alone has made this squad immortal in the eyes of supporters.

However, the Champions League final against PSG gives them the chance to go even further and achieve something no Arsenal team has ever managed.

Thierry Henry has vowed to call them the ‘Unforgettables’ if they win in Budapest, but Martin Keown has now gone a step further with a new nickname of his own.

Martin Keown has a new nickname for Arsenal if they win the Champions League

Arsenal have had some iconic teams over the years.

The Invincibles will always be remembered for going an entire Premier League season unbeaten, while the Double winners of 1971 and 1998 will forever have their place in club history.

Arteta’s current side have already entered that conversation by winning the English crown title this season.

That is why Henry’s ‘Unforgettables’ nickname made so much sense.

Ending a 22-year wait for the title is something Arsenal fans will never forget, especially after years of pain, criticism and near-misses.

But the Champions League is different.

No Arsenal team has ever won it, which means victory against PSG would instantly separate this squad from every other side in the club’s history.

Keown believes that would make them Arsenal’s true number one team.

He said: “They’ll be winners, that’s what they will be – and that will do for me. And they’ll be the first ever winners of the Champions League.

“So for me, they’re the ‘Number Ones’. They’re not just the ‘Unforgettables’ or the ‘Invincibles’. They’re the ‘Number Ones’. It puts them as number one, because no one else has won it.”

2025/26 Arsenal squad will surpass the Invincibles if they complete the double

The Invincibles will always be one of the greatest teams English football has ever seen.

Going unbeaten for an entire Premier League season is an achievement that may never be repeated, and nobody should ever try to downplay that.

However, if this Arsenal side win the Premier League and Champions League in the same campaign, they will have a very strong claim to being the greatest team in the club’s history.

The Champions League is the one trophy that has always escaped Arsenal, even during Arsene Wenger’s best years.

If Arteta’s players finally bring it back to north London while already being champions of England, there will be no debate about their place in history.

They would not just be unforgettable. They would be the first, the best and, as Keown says, Arsenal’s ‘Number Ones’.
