Gabriel Magalhaes scored a header against Atletico Madrid as Arsenal’s flurry of set-piece goals continued.
The Brazilian rose highest to nod the Gunners in front in the second half after Declan Rice supplied a mesmeric delivery from a corner.
Gabriel Martinelli then doubled the North Londoners’ lead with a nicely taken goal, before Viktor Gyokeres scored a brace to wrap up a commanding 4-0 victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The result saw Arsenal move up to third in the Champions League table after three matches, level on points with leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Gabriel was understandably elated at the full-time whistle, praising Rice’s delivery and revealing that Arsenal, unsurprisingly, work ‘a lot’ on set-pieces.

How Gabriel Magalhaes feels about Arsenal’s set-piece expertise
Not only did Gabriel score to add to his growing tally of Arsenal goals, he also created Gyokeres’ second goal, to add a second assist in as many games to his name.
The centre-back stooped in at the back post to head the ball across to Gyokeres, who was there to knee the ball over the line from a yard out.
The two players celebrated manically behind the goal in the North Bank, although they owed the strike to the delivery of Rice.
Gabriel recognised this in his post-match interview on Prime Video, while he finally revealed his true feelings on Arsenal’s set-piece expertise, after the noise around them that has circulated in the media this week.
“We work a lot [on set-pieces],” Gabriel said.
“It’s not about me, it’s about the team. When we get the balls, we believe. And of course, Declan Rice is unbelievable.”
