Gary Neville says Arsenal have ‘the most annoying bloke in football’ after Manchester United win

Gary Neville made a very controversial claim during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League.

The Gunners weren’t at their fluid best, especially in the first half. But, they still managed to get the job done thanks to goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.

Both Arsenal strikes came from corners. The Gunners are so good in those situations, and they could’ve easily scored a couple more on Wednesday night.

That brilliance seems to have got on Neville’s nerve, and he has now had a go at one Arsenal man.

Gary Neville says Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover is ‘the most annoying bloke in football’

Nicolas Jover has transformed Arsenal.

The Frenchman joined the club from Manchester City to become the Gunners’ set-piece coach under Mikel Arteta. He has done a sensational job since.

Every time Arsenal have a corner or a free-kick, opponents tremble in fear because they know just how good the North Londoners are inside the penalty area.

Manchester United learnt that the hard way on Wednesday night, conceding twice from corners in the second half. That won the game for Arsenal.

During a watch-along on The Overlap, a frustrated Neville decided to take his anger out on Jover.

“The set-piece coach at Arsenal, he’s got to be the most annoying bloke in football,” Neville said for absolutely no reason.

This is not the first time either, Neville has had a go at Jover in the past as well – just for doing his job.

Gary Neville is jealous of Nicolas Jover

It must be really hard for Neville to see other people succeed where he failed.

Jover has been doing an unbelievable job at Arsenal since he joined the club. Thanks to him, the Gunners have scored the most set-piece goals in the Premier League since the start of last season.

The Frenchman usually stands on the touchline to pass on instructions to the players inside the box during set-pieces. That, for whatever reason, seems to annoy Neville.

We think that’s because he is very jealous of Jover.

The Arsenal coach has already done more on the touchline than Neville ever did during his abysmal spell as a manager. Jover is better than Neville will ever be.

The Manchester United legend is entitled to his opinions, but if there ever was an award made for ‘the most annoying bloke in football’, we’re sure Neville would win that by a landslide.
