Ian Wright knows every Arsenal player very well.
The legendary Englishman is a Gooner and constantly shows support for the Gunners every time he speaks about them.
Wright was a pundit on Premier League Productions for Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday.
The former striker heaped praise on one player before the game.
Ian Wright says Arsenal star Jurrien Timber is so strong
Arsenal signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax in the summer of 2023.
The Dutch international became an instant hit among the fans after his performances in pre-season that summer, but his debut was a nightmare.
Timber suffered a serious knee injury in the first game of the season, and he missed almost the whole campaign as a result.
Since returning, the former Ajax man has been absolutely incredible for the Gunners. He is extremely solid defensively, is getting better and better in attack and is a complete full-back.
Wright has been very impressed with Timber. He said on Premier League Productions before the game against Newcastle: “It will be a tough day if Jurrien Timber plays anything like he has been playing since he came back from that ACL injury, terrible injury, at the start of last season.
“When you look at him, he never overcommits himself. He is somebody that is so strong, he regains and retains possession. Once he regains it, he’s trying to do something positive with it.
“Once he gets into these one-on-one situations (defensively), he is very difficult to beat. And once he’s on the ball, he’s calm on the ball, he can play out.
“He’s like a middleweight boxer. He’s all top-heavy with respect to his strength.”

Jurrien Timber is the most underrated player in the Premier League
Timber simply doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
The Netherlands international rarely ever has a bad game. His consistency has been remarkable since returning from his horrific injury, and he has produced several exceptional performances.
When people are discussing the best defenders in the Premier League, nobody really brings up Timber’s name – that’s how underrated he is.
However, there is nobody else in the division who can play anywhere across the back four at a very consistent level week in, week out.
The incredible boost for Arsenal is that Timber is still only 24. He is nowhere near his prime yet and will get even better in the coming years.
