Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has lavished praise on Mikel Arteta for his work on Arsenal’s set-pieces so far this season.
The Gunners have impressed from corners and free-kicks, with plenty of games won on those small margins from set-pieces.
Nicolas Jover has been the mastermind behind a lot of the routines, though Mikel Arteta has emphasised the importance of adapting and evolving to become the best of them.
Arsenal could win the Premier League title with those fine margins, with Jamie Carragher explaining exactly why they are so good.

Jamie Carragher praises Arsenal set-pieces
Arsenal’s set-pieces won them the match against Man United, with two goals from corners handing them all three points.
It was something Carragher wanted to discuss on Sky Sports ahead of the Gunners clashing with Fulham on Sunday.
The pundit said: “They get a little bit of criticism in some ways or a joke about the fact that they score a lot from set-pieces but it’s absolutely amazing what they’ve done and credit to them.
“Everybody knows, they’re trying to think of these secrets of what they’re doing, the delivery is… I’ve never seen a delivery like it really.
“With Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, they never miss the spot they’re supposed to get.”
It’s high praise for a topic that continues to gain attention, with many leaning towards arguing that top teams have to win in a certain way.
Carragher’s praise highlights the reality that Arteta has been hitting home for a while, which is the fact that the team simply want to be the best at everything.
Scoring is tough and giving those extra percentages in their favour only makes them a better candidate for the title, not worse.

Arsenal set-piece record this season
Arsenal’s set-piece record is impressive, though their stats don’t put them far out in the lead compared to some other teams.
While the Gunners do top the table in the Premier League for set-piece goals, with seven scored so far, three teams sit right behind them.
Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Everton all have six set-piece goals this season, with five other teams right behind on five goals.
| Team | Set-piece goals |
| Arsenal | 7 |
| Everton | 6 |
| Nottingham Forest | 6 |
| Aston Villa | 6 |
While Arsenal are on the hunt for even more points, they won’t be apologetic for their set-piece prowess and will want to score even more in the future.
