Arsenal were unable to end their winless streak in the Premier League, recording a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Match day 11 was another instance of a poor result for the Gunners, who for all of their efforts, walked away with a single point against their London rivals.
A second half goal from Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead at Stamford Bridge however, Mikel Arteta’s side were unable to keep their advantage intact.
Pedro Neto scored Chelsea’s equaliser with ease as the visitors failed to defend adequately, leaving the North Londoners nine points off Liverpool in top spot.

Why Kai Havertz’s goal was ruled out vs Chelsea
Arsenal took the lead in the first half through Kai Havertz, who crept in behind Chelsea’s defence to slot the ball past Robert Sanchez.
The German thought he’d recorded another memorable return to Stamford Bridge as an Arsenal player however, his goal was chalked off after VAR review.
Replays showed that Havertz was in an offside position through his shoulder, something pundit Jamie Redknapp was not impressed with.
“Chelsea get really lucky. His shoulder is offside. That rule is ridiculous,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports’ coverage of the London derby.
It was the finest of margins that ruled Havertz’s goal out, with the striker’s shoulder being the only part of his body in an offside position.
While by the rulebook the Arsenal man was offside, it was a close call and one that didn’t sit right with Redknapp and many others who follow the Premier League.
Too much is missing at Arsenal
Havertz’s goal didn’t stand however, Martinelli’s second half strike did, giving the Gunners the lead away from home.

Unfortunately, a spell of lackadaisical defending allowed Neto to equalise, seeing Arteta’s side sit nine points behind league leaders Liverpool.
As history tells, it’s not impossible, but it would take something quite extraordinary to overturn a gap of that size at this point in the season.
It’s back to the drawing board for Arteta, as his squad are now four games without a win in the Premier League.
