Noni Madueke will be desperate to feature in Arsenal’s top-of-the-table blockbuster against Aston Villa.

It’s not only Madueke who will want to feature, as several Arsenal attackers must be wondering what they have to do to get minutes right now.

Arsenal’s meeting with Villa will be the clash of expected goals, as the Gunners are massively underperforming the metric while Unai Emery’s side are overperforming.

The only way to improve is for Arsenal to take their chances going forward, giving the likes of Madueke a clear objective to strengthen their claim to earn game time.

Do you expect Mikel Arteta to make a bold call against Aston Villa? If so, who?

Noni Madueke will experience a career first if he remains on Arsenal’s bench against Aston Villa

Since Madueke’s incredible performance against Club Brugge, the 23-year-old hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League.

It’s a frustrating situation for the winger, who is starving for game time in the league, something that he’ll be desperate to achieve against Villa.

The need to play is even greater than ever, as if Madueke is an unused substitute again, it will mark his fourth consecutive Premier League match spent on the bench.

If that happened, it would mark the first time in the Englishman’s Premier League career that he’s spent more than three consecutive games unused.

The last time Madueke spent three games on the bench back-to-back in the Premier League was during the 2023/24 season, a streak that ended before the tally became four.

Madueke’s record against Aston Villa must inspire Mikel Arteta

Right now, there’s no reason for Madueke not to be playing, as Arsenal need goals and the England international has shown that he’s more than capable of providing them.

If there’s one player Villa won’t want to come up against, it’s Madueke, who has a promising record against the Villans over the years.

The winger has contributed to four goals in only six appearances against Villa in all competitions, giving Mikel Arteta some food for thought.

Knowing he can unlock Villa, the last thing Madueke will want is to spend another game on the bench, with all eyes on how Arteta utilises his summer signing.
