The Champions League semi-final first legs have been completed, and the race for Europe’s biggest prize is wide open.
Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico Madrid in Spain, while PSG edged a thrilling 5-4 win over Bayern Munich in Paris.
All four teams remain firmly in the tie heading into the second legs, with nothing decided yet. On paper, it still feels like it could go either way.
However, Opta’s supercomputer has already made its prediction.

Opta’s supercomputer says Arsenal are the favourites to win the Champions League
At this stage of the competition, every team left has a strong case to go all the way.
PSG are the holders of the Champions League and have already shown their attacking firepower with five goals against Bayern.
Vincent Kompany’s side, meanwhile, are viewed by many as the strongest team in world football and are more than capable of turning their tie around.
Atletico Madrid cannot be ruled out either, especially given their ability to grind out results in big European games.

Despite all of that, Opta believe Arsenal are the best-placed team to lift the trophy this season.
According to their supercomputer, the Gunners have a 33.90 per cent chance of winning the Champions League.
PSG are not far behind at 32.25 per cent, while Bayern sit at 22.67 per cent. Atletico Madrid are considered the outsiders with just a 10.1 per cent chance.
That puts the Premier League leaders narrowly ahead of the rest, which shows just how impressive they have been in Europe this season.

Arsenal have been the best team in the Champions League
There is a strong argument that Arsenal deserve to be favourites based on what they have done in the competition so far.
The Gunners are still unbeaten in the Champions League this season, which is a remarkable achievement at this stage.
Defensively, they have been outstanding, conceding just six goals in the entire campaign. At the other end, they have been just as effective, scoring 29 goals in 13 games.
Mikel Arteta’s side have already beaten Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid earlier in the competition, and they are more than good enough to get past Diego Simeone’s side in the second leg.
Given that record, it is clear Arsenal are not just contenders, they are genuine favourites on merit.
