Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was in fine form in his press conference ahead of his side’s game against Arsenal.
The fate of the Premier League title race is likely to be determined in the clash on Sunday. A City win would bring them back in contention, while any other result would favour the Gunners.
Guardiola himself said that ‘it’s over’ if Arsenal beat Manchester City, so the stakes are very high going into the game.
However, there is one stat that the Sky Blues boss has no interest in listening to, even though it’s a good one about his side.

Pep Guardiola shuts down question about Arsenal’s record against Man City at the Etihad
Arsenal’s recent record against Manchester City in the Premier League is very good.
The Gunners haven’t lost a game against Guardiola’s side since April 2023, which is almost three years ago.
That looks fantastic on paper, but what is worrying for Arsenal fans is that they haven’t beaten Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium since Arsene Wenger was at the helm.
Guardiola was asked about that record in the embargoed section of his press conference, but he was having none of that.

The City boss instantly asked the reporter to stop the question because he was worried that the record would come to an end if they started talking about it.
“Don’t ask that question,” Guardiola said, as relayed on HaytersTV.
“You know what happens when things have ‘never ever happened’, no? Next!”

Arsenal need to make a statement at the Etihad Stadium
Arsenal’s record against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium is not great at all.
The Gunners have won just one game in that stadium since October 2010. It has been a terrible place to go over the years, and that cursed run needs to stop.
The game on Sunday against Manchester City offers Arsenal the perfect chance to end their winless run at the Etihad.
A win there would almost guarantee the Premier League title – there can be no greater incentive for the players and Mikel Arteta.
However, pundits like Paul Merson and Chris Sutton think City will be victorious.
