Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has given his verdict on Leandro Trossard’s red card in Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City.
The Gunners had an early disadvantage in the match after Erling Haaland toe-poked an effort beyond David Raya in the goal.
Mikel Arteta’s men showed plenty of fighting spirit though, with Riccardo Calafiori bringing Arsenal level through an incredible long-range effort.
That deficit quickly became a lead as just before half-time, a pinpoint delivery from Bukayo Saka found the head of Gabriel Magalhaes for his second goal in as many Premier League games.
The positive first half was soured slightly though as Leandro Trossard was shown a second yellow card for delaying the restart with a clearance of the ball.

Roy Keane believes Leandro Trossard red card was justified
During the half-time break on Sky Sports, the topic of the red card was discussed with their usual pundit panel of former players.
In what was a repeat of the Declan Rice sending-off against Brighton, Roy Keane believed that the red card was justified, even if it was harsh.
“When you’re on a yellow card, do not give the referee a chance to send you off,” the ex-Man United midfielder said. “You can say it’s harsh all you want but it’s a yellow card.”
Arsenal fans will feel aggrieved by some incidents that haven’t gone in their favour, with Joao Pedro not receiving a booking in the Brighton clash and Jeremy Doku not picking up a caution for a similar incident.
It forced the Gunners to defend deep with ten players, throwing Arteta’s game plan into complete chaos at the break.

What game Leandro Trossard will miss for Arsenal through suspension
Fortunately for Arsenal, Trossard won’t miss the next Premier League game against Leicester City and will instead serve his suspension in the EFL Cup.
It means that Arteta may have to look elsewhere in his squad when they take on League One outfit Bolton, with hopes of making it deep into the cup competition.
The Arsenal boss may well ring the changes throughout the squad, given the intense Premier League and Champions League schedule they have been through.
That could bring about some new minutes for those youngsters from the academy.
