Gabriel Martinelli was one of Arsenal’s worst performers on a terrible night against Wolves in the Premier League.

Just as Arsenal thought they were going seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table, Wolves presented a hurdle in the title race.

Mikel Arteta’s side have now dropped points in five of their previous seven league games, with the entire squad needing to step up.

At Molineux, one of Arsenal’s most disappointing performers was Gabriel Martinelli, who had Arsenal fans talking on social media for the wrong reasons.

Who was Arsenal’s worst player vs Wolves?

Arsenal fans were not impressed with Gabriel Martinelli’s performance against Wolves

You wouldn’t believe that Martinelli had just matched an Ian Wright goalscoring record, as against Wolves, the winger was completely ineffective.

It didn’t take Arsenal fans long to comment on Martinelli’s performance, as the Brazilian generated a lot of discussion on social media.

“Martinelli having one of the worst games I can remember him having,” one X user posted.

There were plenty of other Arsenal fans on X who shared that opinion.

“Martinelli is dreadful. My God,” one supporter said, as another agreed, “Martinelli miles off it tonight.”

It became clear from Arsenal fans on X that Arteta needs to move on from having Martinelli in his starting lineups.

“2026 and we’re still wasting game time on Martinelli,” one Arsenal fan posted.

Another shared the same thought, writing, “Martinelli shouldn’t be starting games for Arsenal in 2026.”

Fans made their thoughts known, and their concerns were supported by what unfolded on the pitch.

Martinelli’s stats against Wolves revealed his struggles

One fan described Martinelli’s display as ‘below par’, which, admittedly, was quite generous based on his statistics.

From losing possession a jaw-dropping 21 times to losing just short of 77% of his duels, it was a terrible showing from Martinelli.

It’s been clear for some time that Arsenal need a left-sided upgrade, and the lack of inspiration from Martinelli at Wolves made that impossible to ignore.

Arsenal fans don’t want to see Martinelli in the starting XI anytime soon, and after what he produced at Wolves, the pleas are justified.
