Arsenal fans react to Martin Odegaard disaster vs Everton

Martin Odegaard is one of Arsenal’s most important players however, the captain certainly had an off day against Everton.

The midfielder struggled immensely against the Toffees, leading to Arteta hooking Odegaard for tactical reasons.

It’s rare that the manager takes the 25-year-old out of the game when a goal is needed, telling of just how bad of an outing it was for the skipper.

Arsenal fans made their thoughts on the attacker’s display clear when reacting to the game on X, as Odegaard received some rather fierce criticism.

“Get Odegaard off the pitch,” one desperate fan asked, while another pleaded for an answer to a rarely asked question, “What happened to Odegaard?”

The tempo was far from fast enough throughout Arsenal’s performance, leading one supporter to say, “Odegaard is so slow.”

Many were in disbelief at just how poor Arsenal’s number eight was, as one fan described the performance as sad, with the criticism about Odegaard rolling in.

Odegaard’s stats in Everton draw

Arsenal haven’t looked back since paying Real Madrid £30m for Odegaard in 2021 and rightly so, as the Norweigan has been near faultless for the Gunners.

The game against Everton however, was an exception, in what was a particuarly poor showing from the midfielder.

From lack of execution when creating play to numerous failures in front of goal, it was an afternoon to forget for Odegaard.

That being said, it was a performance that the captain should be prompted to study, in a rare bad showing for the midfielder, who will be seeking redemption against Crystal Palace.
