Arsenal took on Manchester City in a huge clash at the Emirates Stadium, with both teams looking to pick up three points and bragging rights.

It was the Gunners who took the initiative at home as some good pressing saw them win the ball back in a high area, with Kai Havertz laying the ball to Martin Odegaard for the opener.

Havertz had a chance to double the lead for Arsenal when another turnover of possession saw him handed a huge chance, which he put wide.

Erling Haaland made them pay by bringing Man City level with a headed goal, but it sparked the Gunners into life.

Arsenal went into overdrive as goals from Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri all found the back of the net.

With such a big win, there were plenty of winners, and only one loser, from the clash for Arsenal.

Winners from Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City

David Raya

While it was an absolute thrashing, it may be easy to forget just how impressive David Raya was at some points in the game.

The Spaniard fought back from injury to make the lineup and he was called into action during some tense points.

Key saves from Raya proved exactly why Mikel Arteta needed him between the sticks for such a key game, playing an important role.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Another game, another impressive display from Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Keeping his place in the team, the Hale End academy star was more than comfortable in dealing with the attacking threats from Man City.

He then played a telling role in the attacking phases as the defender got in on the act with a strike to score for the side.

It’s a display that will no doubt keep him in the team for the weeks to come, underlining his promise.

Declan Rice

A motor in the midfielder, Declan Rice was important in playing a part in the press and the energy in the final third.

While many would’ve viewed the England international as a deeper-lying option, his impact higher up the pitch was huge.

He helped effectively set up the opener and could’ve got another assist on top of his two for his troubles, with Gary Neville labelling him as the Man of the Match.

Losers from Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City

Erling Haaland

Perhaps the only loser from the match was Erling Haaland, who was truly humbled by Arsenal and the squad as a whole.

The Man City star had little joy and while he did score, he was limited and had to walk away with a huge 5-1 defeat.
