Tierney and Turner get 8/10: Arsenal player ratings vs Bodo/Glimt

Arsenal have just secured a 1-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League and here are our player ratings.

A solitary goal from Bukayo Saka in the first half was enough for Mikel Arteta’s men to pick up all three points in what was a really difficult game in Norway.

Arsenal player ratings vs Bodo/Glimt

Matt Turner: 8/10

The American picks up his second clean sheet as an Arsenal player. He saved the Gunners with a really smart stop in the second half, but what impressed us the most today was his distribution, which was much better than last week.

Ben White: 7/10

Another solid game from the Englishman. White doesn’t seem to have bad games at all these days and long may it continue.

Rob Holding: 7.5/10

It’s always difficult for players to step up when they know for a fact that they won’t play regularly. Holding, however, performed really well again today.

William Saliba: 7.5/10

It was a big surprise to see Arteta pick Saliba this evening. The youngster is our best centre-half, and we really didn’t expect him to get a chance today. However, he was solid and composed yet again, and helped us keep a clean sheet.

Kieran Tierney: 8/10

The spotlight was on the Scotsman today after he was dropped against Liverpool. Tierney, however, performed brilliantly and was arguably our most impressive player today.

Albert Sambi Lokonga: 7/10

Apart from one moment in the game where he gave the ball away cheaply, it was a solid display by the Belgian. He still has a lot to improve, but he should be happy with how he fared today.

Martin Odegaard: 6.5/10

It’s not often that Odegaard has an underwhelming game, but it was just one of those days for our skipper. He just couldn’t get going and was replaced in the second half.

Fabio Vieira: 6/10

After bossing the game last week, Vieira had a quiet game today. He barely touched the ball in the first half and the number eight role didn’t seem to suit him. He became a lot more involved after moving higher up the pitch.

Bukayo Saka: 8/10

A bit lucky to score, but they all count. Saka was very active throughout his time on the pitch and he was our biggest threat going forward. Arteta will be happy with his showing.

Reiss Nelson: 7/10

Nelson was handed his first start of the season and it was not a bad game at all. His take-ons in the first half caused Bodo/Glimt a few problems, but his end product remains the issue.

Eddie Nketiah: 7.5/10

Didn’t get his goal today, but Nketiah worked tirelessly as always. His record in this competition, however, is still spectacular, and he’ll be hoping to get back to scoring when we face PSV next week.
