Bukayo Saka could not prevent Arsenal from slumping to a 1-0 Champions League defeat against Inter Milan on Wednesday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side have now suffered back-to-back losses, having been beaten by Newcastle United last time out in the Premier League.

Arsenal were unfortunate to concede a penalty against Inter Milan, which Hakan Calhanoglu converted to put the hosts ahead just before the break.

However, despite dominating possession and territory in the second half, the North London club failed to mount a comeback.

Arsenal fans dazzled by Bukayo Saka strength vs Inter Milan

Despite being on the losing side, Bukayo Saka came out of this game with some credit.

The Hale End academy graduate looks comfortable on the Champions League stage, and tried to make something happen for his side at the San Siro.

Saka captained Arsenal against Inter Milan, and led by example, with one aspect of his performance drawing praise from supporters on X.

One said: “Saka’s strength is truly ridiculous.”

Another stated: “That Saka control of the long ball with that giant cb on him was cold. Saka is so strong.”

One fan observed: “Crazy strength Saka.”

Another added: “Saka’s strength is seriously underrated. He uses his body so well. Defenders twice his side bounce off him.”

Bukayo Saka let down by teammates in Champions League

Saka’s strength stood out, as did his directness and set-piece delivery from a succession of corners.

However, none of the 23-year-old’s teammates could match the standard that he set in this Champions League outing as he was comfortably Arsenal’s best player on the pitch.

Arsenal player ratings vs Inter Milan:

Saka loves Arsenal. He has been on the books at the Emirates Stadium since the age of seven. However, he is also ambitious and will be desperate to win the trophies in his career that his talent deserves.

Unless the winger feels he is surrounded by players of the required quality at Arsenal he will eventually become restless and the club may find it becomes increasingly difficult to retain his services.
