Updates on Ben White, Martin Odegaard, William Saliba, Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori’s injury status have emerged ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Gunners are preparing for the round of 16 of the Champions League, with Bayer Leverkusen awaiting Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Arsenal squad will travel to Leverkusen before the clash on Wednesday evening and will hold an open training session ahead of the trip.

After the North Londoners’ FA Cup win over Mansfield Town, some injury doubts arose, as Riccardo Calafiori and Leandro Trossard had to come off.

There’s good news as the duo were both spotted training at Colney ahead of Leverkusen, as was William Saliba, who had been nursing an ankle issue.

Martin Odegaard and Ben White still injured ahead of Bayer Leverkusen trip

It’s good news to have Saliba, Calafiori and Trossard back training with the squad, three key players needed for the Champions League knock-outs.

There was, however, some bad news, as both Martin Odegaard and Ben White were not seen in training.

Odegaard has been out since the North London Derby, and White has not featured for Arsenal in almost a month, last playing in the FA Cup against Wigan Athletic.

It’s a blow as the two players offer huge experience and quality, but admittedly, their unavailability has become a norm this season.

Arteta has the squad to cope without the pair, giving those who will replace them a greater incentive to impress in their absence.

The Arsenal manager is expected to speak in a press conference before the clash, which will give a greater indicator of the severity of White and Odegaard’s fitness issues.
