Arsenal are knocked out of the Carabao Cup after falling to a 4-0 defeat to Newcastle on aggregate at the semi-final stage.
Arsenal went into the tie 2-0 down from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, requiring a huge turnaround to book a place in the Carabao Cup final.
The Gunners didn’t get off to an ideal start, though, as Alexander Isak ran the backline ragged and made it count as his shot rocketed off the post and into the path of Jacob Murphy for the opener.
An injury to Gabriel Martinelli came as another blow as they looked to build their way back into the match.
The tie was firmly put to rest when David Raya gave the ball away to Fabian Schar, who played Anthony Gordon through to double the lead on the night.
In the end, it turned out to be something of a disastrous night for Arsenal, so here’s a look at the winners and losers from the night.

Winners from Newcastle vs Arsenal
Alexander Isak
In another timeline, Alexander Isak is an Arsenal player and helping them reach the Carabao Cup final on the night.
Instead, he was wearing black and white and showed the Gunners exactly what they were missing as he helped Newcastle reach the final instead.
Eddie Howe
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe seems to have Mikel Arteta’s number when it comes to head-to-head meetings.
Only Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have a better win record against the Arsenal manager, which has extended.

Losers from Newcastle vs Arsenal
William Saliba
Possibly one of his worst performances in an Arsenal shirt, William Saliba never really settled into the match at all.
The Frenchman was ruffled by Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon throughout as he failed to keep a cool head.

He gave the ball away on a few occasions, while runs behind the backline continually caused him problems.
David Raya
It wasn’t an easy night for David Raya, who was put under pressure on a few occasions with one-on-one opportunities against him.
The goalkeeper did make a costly error when he passed the ball into Declan Rice when he was being swarmed by the opposition, giving the ball away for the second goal of the night.
Leandro Trossard
A pretty ineffective night for Leandro Trossard, who was unable to add the attacking edge that the side needed.

The Belgian international was hooked off in the second half, with the game wrapped up in favour of the home side.
Mikel Arteta
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta needed signs of a comeback tonight, if not a completed one in the tie to give some hope of being back involved.
It wasn’t to be, though, as Newcastle dominated proceedings, making the Gunners look poor in the process.
Even worse, the chance of landing silverware in the competition has now gotten away from Arteta and Arsenal.
