Arsenal supporters are in disbelief at what they saw from Thomas Partey during the Gunners’ clash with Manchester United.
The Emirates played host to the Wednesday night Premier League blockbuster, seeing Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim go head to head.
Arteta isn’t seeking revenge on Amorim despite being beaten by the Portuguese manager during his time at Sporting CP.
Added to the pressure of wanting to to beat the Man United boss, Arsenal were hit with injury concerns ahead of kick off, rising the temperature before the showdown at the Emirates.

Thomas Partey misses chance for Arsenal vs Man United
The game started well for Arsenal, who saw plenty of the ball in the opening minutes to settle into the contest.
With Gabriel Magalhaes struggling with injury, the Gunners’ threat in the box was minimised but nonetheless, all eyes were on what Arteta’s side could do from set play.
In the early stages, Arsenal won a corner resulting in Declan Rice floating a perfect ball into the box, which was met by an unmarked Thomas Partey.
Just as fans thought a celebration was on the cards, it became clear that the Ghanaian had in fact squandered his chance, firing it wide after failing to make a strong connection.
Partey couldn’t believe that the ball hit his shoulder rather than his head, which was a feeling shared by fans far and wide watching on.
Arsenal fans aren’t happy with Partey
While Man United fans let out a sigh of relief, Arsenal supporters were furious as many took to X to convey their frustration.
“Crazy miss,” one supporter said, while another described Partey’s actions as ‘unbelievable’.
“That should be 1-0 for us. What a miss from Partey,” another stated, analysing the missed chance for the Gunners to take the lead at home.
“How did Partey even miss that header?” An Arsenal follower asked.
“This man has played as a CB and a RB all his life and he still can’t nod a ball.”
Fans were in disbelief just as the midfielder was, with one saying, “I can’t believe that miss.”
“Partey man. What a miss. Absolutely fantastic and clear chance that,” another added as Gooners far and wide struggled to comprehend how the 31-year-old failed to score.
