Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has responded to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on social media.
Callum Wilson has sent a message to Bukayo Saka in the wake of Arsenal beating Liverpool 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.
Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners against the Merseyside outfit, with a well-taken finish, after Kai Havertz’s initial effort was parried his way by Alisson Becker.
The goal marked the 22-year-old’s third strike in his last four Premier League outings. It has been said that Saka is close to getting back to the kind of form that he showed consistently last season. The Hale End academy graduate was certainly able to impress against the Reds.
So far this season, across all competitions, Saka has now contributed 11 goals and 13 assists in 30 appearances. He is a talismanic figure within Mikel Arteta’s squad, and if the Gunners are to stand any chance of being crowned Premier League champions this season, then they will need Saka fit and firing on all cylinders for the rest of the campaign.

Callum Wilson impressed by Bukayo Saka
Wilson was certainly impressed by what he saw from the Arsenal man yesterday. After the match, Saka took to Instagram to celebrate the result. The England star posted a message saying, “It takes all of us! Enjoy that one Gunners, we keep going!”
Wilson responded to this with a fire emoji and a saluting emoji.
In another timeline, Saka and Wilson might now be teammates at the Emirates Stadium. After all, in the recent January transfer window, when Arteta was certainly on the lookout for a new striker, Newcastle United offered Wilson to Arsenal for a fee of just £18 million.
The north London club did not take the Magpies up on that offer, and they were not ultimately able to bolster their attacking contingent at all this winter. However, if they can consistently perform like they did against Liverpool for the rest of the season then the lack of a prolific striker won’t hold them back.
