Arsenal had a very busy summer transfer window.

The Gunners signed over £200m worth of new players this summer, and many of those signings look very exciting.

Noni Madueke has already impressed, while Viktor Gyokeres has been tipped for big things too.

As exciting as these new signings are, Arsenal have also had to oversee a few departures.

Indeed, a number of players have left the club as the likes of Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho departed.

Meanwhile, on deadline day, Jakub Kiwior left Arsenal for Porto, and speaking to O Jogo, the defender has been discussing his move away from the Emirates.

Jakub Kiwior says it was difficult to leave Arsenal

Kiwior spoke about leaving Arsenal.

The defender joined Arsenal for £20m back in January 2023, and he’d grown quite attached to the Gunners since that move.

Kiwior says it was very difficult to say goodbye to Arsenal, claiming that his move almost came from out of nowhere.

“It was difficult to say goodbye to Arsenal, because I didn’t know when it would actually happen. If I had known the exact day in advance,” Kiwior said.

“I would have had time to prepare. In the last three days there, I didn’t know which would actually be my last. Fabrizio Romano launched the ‘here we go’ campaign, and I started receiving dozens of messages and calls congratulating me. I was starting training. The players looked at it on their phones and asked me why I had equipped myself when it was already closed.”

How Mikel Arteta felt about losing Jakub Kiwior

Kiwior says it was difficult to say goodbye to Arsenal, and it was also difficult for Mikel Arteta to say goodbye to Kiwior.

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, heading into this window, Mikel Arteta wanted to keep hold of Kiwior.

However, with Piero Hincapie arriving at Arsenal, this was a logical move for Kiwior to make at this stage in his career, and he should be able to thrive at Porto.

Kiwior leaves Arsenal with plenty of goodwill, that’s for sure.
