£30m Man City star has just made a claim about Arsenal that puts them above Real Madrid

Arsenal are one of the best teams in world football today.

The Gunners have been transformed by Mikel Arteta over the last five years. They have gone from finishing eighth to challenging for the Premier League title in consecutive seasons.

Arsenal have been going toe-to-toe with Manchester City over the last two campaigns and are unbeaten against them since the start of the 2023/24 season.

Arteta’s men almost beat the champions with 10 men too back in September, but had to settle for a draw after a late John Stones equaliser.

Savinho played for Manchester City in that game and has now made a big claim.

Manchester City star Savinho rates Arsenal very highly

Arsenal are such a difficult side to face for any club.

The Gunners are so good in all departments and can make your life miserable in every phase of play. Arteta has created an incredible team and even Pep Guardiola is struggling to outsmart his old assistant.

Savinho joined Manchester City in the summer for £30 million (Guardian), and he got the opportunity to face Arsenal for the very first time in September.

The Brazilian started the game well and even assisted Erling Haaland’s opener. Then, he saw Arsenal fight back and produce a sensational display with 10 men.

Now, in a video on Isabelle Costa’s TikTok, Savinho was asked to name the toughest team he has ever played against in his career.

The Manchester City star quickly replied: “Arsenal!” He didn’t even hesitate.

That is a huge compliment for Arteta and his side as Savinho faced clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid last season. He has ranked Arsenal above all of them.

Arsenal may have a slight advantage over Man City in the title race

Arsenal and Manchester City have both played seven games in the Premier League so far this season and have an identical record – five wins and two draws.

The two title rivals are in the same position at the moment, but Arsenal won’t be wrong to feel that they are in a slightly better place.

That’s because Arteta’s men are already done with difficult away trips to City, Tottenham and Aston Villa this season – they don’t have to worry about those fixtures anymore.

Chelsea are the only big side Manchester City have faced away from home so far. They will have to face that music later in the season, which is not ideal, especially without Rodri in their midfield.

Arsenal should take advantage of that this season.
