Arsenal star Declan Rice has been showered with praise on social media after England’s dramatic win against Slovakia.

The 25-year-old midfielder was one of the best players on the pitch for the Three Lions as Rice completed the entire 120 minutes in England’s 2-1 win against Slovakia, where Jude Bellingham’s stunning overhead kick in the 96th-minute sent the game into extra-time.

With Harry Kane scoring the winner, England have now set themselves up with a quarter-final tie with Switzerland, where Rice will be expected to start for the Three Lions, with Ian Wright hailing the Arsenal man as ‘unbelievable’ against Slovakia.

And Rice has now been sent some love on social media by some interesting players.

Ivan Toney and Cole Palmer send love to Rice on Instagram

Taking to Instagram, rumoured Arsenal target Ivan Toney, as well as Chelsea star Cole Palmer, both sent heart emojis to Rice after the 25-year-old’s post from England’s incredible Euros win against Slovakia.

With the £60m-rated Brentford striker changing the entire tide of the game for England, Toney’s appreciation for Rice goes a long way in highlighting just how good the Arsenal midfielder was on the night for the Three Lions.

Indeed, Rice was a defensive monster for England on the night, a role Arsenal fans haven’t seen the midfield operate in in quite some time, with Mikel Arteta transforming the 25-year-old into a more advanced option.

However, Rice showed his quality in a big way in Gelsenkirchen, and the Arsenal man will want to keep this good form going into the quarter-finals, where Switzerland awaits England.

Rice will be proud of how he performed against Slovakia

Rice’s performances leading into yesterday’s round of 16 tie with Slovakia had been mixed, to say the least, yet the midfielder can be more than proud of himself after how he got on last night for England.

Whilst Rice is clearly on the path to becoming a full left-sided no. 8 based on his form at Arsenal this season, the 25-year-old can still perform the role of a defensive midfielder very effectively when needed.

And for England, that’s exactly the sort of player the Three Lions need Rice to be like at this tournament, with a long-term plan for the Arsenal man needed after Euro 2024.
