Benjamin Sesko must seriously be rueing his decision not to push for a move to Arsenal instead of joining Manchester United.

Man United sacked Ruben Amorim on Monday morning following his comments about the club’s hierarchy in the aftermath of their 1-1 draw at Leeds United.

Sesko was strongly linked with Arsenal last summer, before the Gunners opted to instead move for Viktor Gyokeres in a £63 million deal.

Back in the summer of 2024, Sesko rejected a move to Arsenal; however, following his start to life at Man United, that is a decision he must seriously regret.

Benjamin Sesko must regret Arsenal rejection after Ruben Amorim’s sacking

Manchester United are in turmoil right now following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim; meanwhile, Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League at the weekend.

The Gunners are flying high both domestically and in the Champions League, which must leave Sesko rather envious of Gyokeres.

Last summer, Arteta was eager to sign Sesko, but in the end, a deal proved to be too costly, and the Gunners moved for the Swede instead.

RB Leipzig wanted in excess of £68 million for Sesko, which was always going to be a huge risk considering his lack of experience.

Man United eventually paid £74 million for the Slovakian international, although the move has been quite the failure so far.

Fill in the blank: I feel ______________ about Andrea Berta’s talent ID at Arsenal

Does Berta’s pursuit of Sesko and Gyokeres worry you at all?

Sesko has just two Premier League goals to his name in 16 appearances for the Red Devils and was not looking great in Amorim’s system.

Meanwhile, Gyokeres is starting to get credit at Arsenal, as, despite his lack of goals, the work he is doing for his teammates is being noted by many.

The 22-year-old must be rather envious of how Arteta’s team are doing this season, knowing that could have been him leading the line.

Jan Aage Fjortoft hails Viktor Gyokeres’ work rate for Arsenal

Former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft has praised Gyokeres’ work rate for Arsenal and believes he is great for his teammates.

Gyokeres helped create Declan Rice’s first goal against Bournemouth over the weekend, and his role in the team is quickly becoming apparent.

Fjortoft said: “I come from the striker’s camp, where goals matter a lot. But credit where it’s due: the Swede works tirelessly.

“He stretches defences, creates space, and allows others to thrive. Just as importantly, his teammates repay that work with their support.”
