Arsenal suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners took the lead early on and gave no chances to the French champions. It was a controlled performance from Mikel Arteta’s side, and everything was going to plan until PSG won a penalty and equalised.

The game then went to a penalty shootout, and unfortunately for Arsenal, Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes missed their spot kicks.

Arsenal fans are all behind the duo, and so is former Gunner Aaron Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale sends a message to Gabriel Magalhaes and Eberechi Eze after Champions League heartbreak

Ramsdale’s time at Arsenal came to a disappointing end, but he still has a lot of love for the club and his former teammates.

The goalkeeper was the Gunners’ number one and even made it into the PFA Team of the Year in his penultimate season at the club.

However, once Mikel Arteta decided to bring in David Raya and made him his number one, Ramsdale’s Arsenal career came to an end.

Yet, the Englishman was supporting the Gunners in the Champions League final, and his heart broke when he saw Eze and Gabriel fail to convert their penalties.

Ramsdale wrote in an Instagram Story: “These two boys I love. Devastated seeing my mates miss penalties.

“Some season lads Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes. I’m proud of you no matter what. Big nuts to step up and take one.

“The rest of my mates, I’m proud of you. You’ll be back. Love you boys.”

Aaron Ramsdale hails Declan Rice after Arsenal vs PSG

Even though Arsenal lost, there are a lot of positives to take from the Champions League final.

The whole defence was outstanding for large parts of the game, while Kai Havertz scored a lovely goal to give the Gunners the lead. Even Myles Lewis-Skelly was excellent and earned David Beckham’s praise.

Another player who was brilliant was Declan Rice in the middle of the park, and Ramsdale was blown away by his display.

“Declan Rice, you sir, are the pinnacle,” he wrote in the same Instagram Story.
