Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey became an icon during his time at the club, and tasted significant success in the FA Cup.

The Welshman won three trophies in four years, and scored the winning goal in two of those finals at Wembley.

Ramsey played alongside some world-class players during his 11-year stay at the Emirates, including Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and even a brief spell with Thierry Henry.

However, he has named a different player as the best he played alongside in red and white, and admitted that it was “difficult” to play against him in training.

Speaking to JustArsenal, Ramsey was asked who was the most difficult player he had faced in training, and he revealed that Spanish magician Santi Cazorla takes the top spot.

“I had so many great team-mates over the years at Arsenal. Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott, Per Mertesacker, Koscielny, Santi, Nacho Monreal,” he stated.

“However, Santi Cazorla was the most difficult to train against. He was a pleasure to play with.

“So talented, he could use both legs equally and get out of any difficult situation. He was a great team player and enjoyed every minute he was on the pitch.”

Some may consider Cazorla a surprise pick ahead of some of the other stars Ramsey has played alongside, but on a technical level, there is perhaps little shock that the midfielder was tough to face in training.

Cazorla became a fan favourite at the club, with his intelligence, dribbling skills and top-class technical ability standing out, and his ability to use both feet equally was unmatched.

Ramsey’s early days at Arsenal saw him line up in Arsenal sides that were filled with quality, but could not secure major trophies under Arsene Wenger.

The likes of Samir Nasri, Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky were all outstanding players alongside Ramsey, but it was not until Wenger found balance with Ramsey alongside Mikel Arteta in a double pivot, behind star signing Ozil, that success was found in 2014.

Ramsey scored the winner in the FA Cup final, and began what could have been a period where Arsenal won multiple FA Cups and the Premier League title, but they fell short when Leicester pulled off a shock in 2016.

The Welshman soon saw the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Arteta and Bacary Sagna around him depart, and Wenger’s last season was a miserable one, and Ramsey would stay for just one year longer before joining Juventus.
