Aaron Ramsey says he would score so many goals if he played with one current Arsenal star

Aaron Ramsey was a fantastic player for Arsenal in his prime.

The Welshman moved to the Emirates Stadium from Cardiff City as a teenager back in 2008. Ramsey rejected Manchester United for Arsenal, even though he grew up supporting the Red Devils.

In his 11 years at the club, the midfielder had a lot of ups and downs, but when he was fully fit, he was a fantastic player to have – the 2013/14 season is a great example.

Now, Ramsey has named the player he would have loved to play with – Martin Odegaard.

Aaron Ramsey says Martin Odegaard would assist him if they played together at Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey was a very special player.

The Wales international was not a world-beater like Patrick Vieira or Declan Rice, but he possessed a unique skill in the middle of the park.

Irrespective of whether he played in attacking midfield or as a number eight, Ramsey made a habit of making dangerous late runs into the box.

That helped him score several goals for the Gunners, and he has now claimed that his tally would’ve been higher had he played with current Arsenal captain Odegaard.

On Stadium Astro, Ramsey was asked to name the Gunners star who is most similar to him.

He replied: “That’s a difficult one. I think they should get me back there, to be honest. No, I mean, they play a bit differently now in terms of the Arsene Wenger era. I don’t know…”

Danny Simpson then jumped in and claimed that Ramsey would play instead of Odegaard in the number 10 role in this Arsenal side.

The Welsh legend replied: “I think I would certainly enjoy playing with him. I think he is a great player, and he is so intelligent.

“He would definitely be able to give me a few assists with my sort of late runs into the box.”

Is Aaron Ramsey the biggest Arsenal legend of the Emirates Stadium era? If not, who is?

Aaron Ramsey doesn’t get the credit he deserves at Arsenal

Everyone recognises Ramsey as a good player, but not many people really give him the credit he deserves.

The former Cardiff man was the biggest reason why Arsenal ended their trophy drought in 2014. He had an incredible campaign and scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Hull City.

Ramsey contributed to the Gunners winning two more FA Cups in the next three years. When he was fit and firing, he was almost unplayable, but injuries really hurt him.

In fact, if he hadn’t been ruled out of the 2019 Europa League final, we are convinced that Arsenal would’ve beaten Chelsea.

Ramsey deserves a lot more credit than he gets. He is up there with the most important players Arsenal have had in the Emirates Stadium era.
