Alan Shearer backs Man City to win the Premier League

Alan Shearer is now backing Manchester City to win the Premier League title following the 2-1 win over Arsenal.

The former Premier League striker believes that City’s form and experience will now help them to get over the line after beating the Gunners.

After looking at Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland’s reactions after the match, he thinks there is now a sense at City that they will go on to win it.

Shearer told NBC Sports: “Yeah, I always felt as if City won this game, I think with the form they are in, the experience they have, and the momentum they’ve got, I do believe they’ll now go on and win it.”

“It just feels like that, looking at Pep, looking at Haaland, looking at their fans in the stadium and listening to it, you get that feeling that’s exactly how they are feeling as well.”

Who was the most disappointing performer for Arsenal vs Man City

Ahead of the match, Shearer predicted City to beat Arsenal, and now their momentum should take them over the line in the final six matches.

Mikel Arteta’s team will now need to lift themselves to face Newcastle United next weekend in what is now a must-win game for the Gunners.

The North London club should still take confidence from their performance and will now need to be ready to pounce on any mistakes City make.
