Arsenal have a number of players who have impressed this season.
Yes, things haven’t gone the Gunners’ way in the Premier League, and Liverpool are all set to lift the title. But, Arsenal have shown incredible character to remain second despite all the injuries.
To add to that, Mikel Arteta’s side have made it into the semi-finals of the Champions League and have shown that they have what it takes to go all the way in the competition.
Many Arsenal players have stepped up and delivered this season, and Alan Shearer has raved about one of them now.
Alan Shearer stunned by Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly’s strength
Myles Lewis-Skelly has been Arsenal’s breakthrough star this season.
The 18-year-old wasn’t expected to get much game time at the start of the campaign, but injuries to Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko opened the door for him.
Lewis-Skelly has been sensational in the famous red and white, and he is now in a position where Arteta cannot drop him, even when the more senior players are available.
Since he made his debut, the teenager has shown a number of hugely impressive traits, but what has blown Shearer away is his strength.
The Newcastle United legend has heaped praise on how strong Lewis-Skelly is and has even compared his legs to ‘tree trunks’.
He said on the Rest is Football podcast: “His build is like, he’s so physically strong already, isn’t he? I mean, even if you look at his legs are like tree trunks already, and strong.
“Everything about him is outstanding!”

Arsenal’s opponents should be scared of Lewis-Skelly
It’s very rare to see an 18-year-old come into the Premier League without any previous professional football experience and hit the ground running.
Lewis-Skelly has made it look easy this season, and his physicality has to be his most impressive trait.
The youngster, at 18, is dominating players who have been in the game a lot longer than him in duels. When he’s on the run, nobody can stop him without fouling him.
Lewis-Skelly’s rise is really exciting for Arsenal fans, but what’s scary for the opponents is that he will only get better in the coming years.
In three or four years’ time, we won’t be surprised at all if Lewis-Skelly becomes one of the best players in the world.
