Arsenal and Chelsea meet on Super Sunday in what could be a huge game in the title race and Alan Shearer has made his prediction for the game.
The Gunners go into the clash with the Blues full of confidence after hammering Tottenham last time out.
However, with Man City winning at Leeds, the pressure has increased a touch more as Mikel Arteta knows his team have to keep winning.
And according to Alan Shearer, that’s exactly what is going to happen at The Emirates.
If Bukayo Saka isn’t the key to beating Chelsea, then who is?
Alan Shearer says Arsenal will ‘overpower’ Chelsea
A few years back, predicting the result of Arsenal against Chelsea was very much a lottery and a case of which team turned up on the day.
Now, though, Arsenal have a clear advantage in terms of both squad and manager and according to Alan Shearer, this one is only going one way.
“The belief and everything that goes with winning against Tottenham in the way they did, I think Arsenal are just going to do the same to Chelsea and overpower them,” Shearer wrote for The Metro.

“They’ll have too much for them all over the pitch. I’m still really not convinced by Chelsea at the back. Defensively, Rosenior keeps picking different personnel and they haven’t been great defensively, which has to change if they’re going to get into the top four.”
Arsenal’s record against Chelsea at The Emirates
Chelsea v Arsenal is one of the Premier League’s top fixtures and has been for some years now.
Since Arsenal moved to The Emirates, there have been 26 clashes between the clubs in all competitions.
The very first clash between the two came way back in 2006 and ended in a 1-1 draw but over the years, it is Arsenal who have slightly gained the upper-hand. The Gunners have won 11 of the 26 games, albeit Chelsea have won eight themselves, so don’t have the worst record either.
Arsenal fans…who do you think is the happier manager right now? Pep Guardiola, or Mikel Arteta?
Crucially, the Gunners are unbeaten against Chelsea in 10 meetings home and away now and we have to go back to 2021 for Chelsea’s last win at The Emirates, when goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James were enough for a 2-0 win.
Going into tomorrow, Mikel Arteta will be keen to extend his record over the Blues and pick up a valuable three points in the title race.
