Bukayo Saka is about to sign a new contract at Arsenal.

The England international has entered the final 18 months of his deal at the Emirates, and talks had been ongoing over an extension in recent months.

On Friday, David Ornstein revealed that an agreement has been reached between Saka and Arsenal over a new contract until the summer of 2031.

That is excellent news, but Andrea Berta isn’t resting on his laurels. He has already planned his next steps at Arsenal.

Andrea Berta is planning three more contract extensions at Arsenal after Bukayo Saka’s new deal

Berta has done a magnificent job since becoming the Arsenal sporting director.

A lot was expected of the Italian after he replaced Edu Gaspar last year, and he has exceeded everybody’s expectations and some.

Berta completed eight new signings in the summer transfer window. He also convinced Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and William Saliba to sign new contracts.

Now, Saka’s deal has been agreed, and all that is left is an official announcement.

Once that’s done, The Athletic claim that three other players’ contracts are on the agenda at Arsenal.

Jurrien Timber is one of them, and talks have been ongoing with the Dutchman over a new deal after his brilliant performances over the last 18 months.

The other two are Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, and the report claims that contract negotiations with them are also on the horizon.

Is this Andrea Berta’s best Arsenal deal yet? If not, which is?

Three other Arsenal players’ contracts need immediate attention

Berta is absolutely right to shift his focus towards Timber, Rice and Havertz’s contracts after striking a deal with Saka.

Once those three deals are done, there is more work for the Arsenal sporting director to do.

Gabriel Martinelli will enter the final year of his contract in the summer, and a decision has to be made about his future. If Arsenal don’t want to sell him, they will have to extend his deal to avoid losing him for nothing in 2027.

David Raya and Martin Odegaard will have two years left on their deals in July, and their futures need to be assessed as well.

We have a feeling Martinelli will be sold in the summer, but Raya and Odegaard should get new deals.
