Arsenal managed to do one thing against Sheffield United that they have never pulled off away from home in the Premier League before.
By the time the half-time whistle blew at Bramall Lane on Monday evening, Arsenal were already 5-0 up against Sheffield United.
On top of that, in the first-half, Mikel Arteta also reached a personal landmark. As Arsenal put the Blades to the sword, they scored the 300th Premier League goal of Arteta’s reign.
It was a dazzling first 45 minutes from the Gunners, and they pulled Chris Wilder’s side apart. Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Declan Rice all got on the scoresheet, whilst some smart work from Bukayo Saka forced an own-goal from Jayden Bogle.
Arsenal fans were particularly impressed by the performance put in by Odegaard, as the Norwegian playmaker was at the heart of so much of what Arteta’s team did well.
Of course, the game was all but won by half-time. Sheffield United were a broken force, and many of the home fans had left the stadium before the referee’s whistle even drew the opening period to a close.
This was also a record-breaking half of football for Arsenal. As reported by Squawka, this was the first time in Premier League history that the Gunners have been able to score five first-half goals away from home.

Arsenal need to keep up record-breaking form on the road
The north London club have been imperious on the road of late. Prior to this triumph in Yorkshire, they had previously beaten Burnley 5-0 and West Ham United 6-0 on their most recent Premier League travels.
The one factor to blight their evening at Bramall Lane was that Saka and Martinelli were both forced off the pitch early. After the match, Arteta provided an injury update on both players. If Arsenal are to stand any chance of being crowned Premier League champions this season, they will need both Saka and Martinelli to remain fit and firing on all cylinders.
They will also have to maintain their incredible standards away from home next time that they are on the road in the Premier League, when they will meet Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium at the end of March. They will get a much sterner test from the reigning champions than they were offered by Sheffield United, and the outcome of that match could have a huge impact on the title race.
