Arsenal fans have now given their verdict on the performance that Martin Odegaard produced against Sheffield United on Monday evening. 

Martin Odegaard was once again in sensational form for Arsenal as they put Sheffield United to the sword. 

The Gunners were utterly ruthless, particularly in the first-half, as they pulled the hapless Blades apart on Monday night. After Bukayo Saka rattled the crossbar and Gabriel Martinelli saw an effort cleared off the line in the early exchanges, Odegaard was able to open the scoring with just five minutes on the clock.

The Norwegian playmaker continued to run the show, tying together slick attacking moves with seeming ease as Mikel Arteta’s side racked up a five-goal lead by the time the half-time whistle blew.

Odegaard has been lauded for his recent form, and the Arsenal club captain demonstrated his class once again at Bramall Lane in a player of the match performance. Beyond his goal, and even his creativity, the work that the 25-year-old does off the ball is also hugely important. Odegaard is a leader on the pitch, and leads the press in particular. He is relentless in his efforts to harry and pressurise opposition players when they are on the ball. He is vital to the methods that the Gunners employ to win the ball back high up the pitch with such regularity.

After the final whistle in Sheffield, many Arsenal fans flocked to X to heap praise on the midfielder. Referencing Odegaard’s relentless energy, one supporter said, “I’m out of breath just watching him.”

Another fan stated, “I’m not even sure what to say about odegaard at this point. What a player.” One supporter chipped in with, “I think I know how good he is, and he finds another level. That so much of it is just pure effort is so endearing.”
